<p>We celebrate the life and memory of Mrs. Sarah Ellis Townsend Williams whose death occurred Sunday, September 27,&nbsp;2020 at St. Joseph&#39;s Hospital.</p> <p>Mrs. Sarah Townsend Williams an unbelievable loving woman of God who stood out and stood up for&nbsp;making a difference in this world was born on February 14th, 1945 to the late Tearessie D. Mungin Townsend and Andrew James Townsend / Archie I. Mungin,&nbsp; Sr. She was the oldest of nine children.&nbsp;</p> <p>Sarah, excepted God into her life at a very early age.&nbsp; She attended Warren Grove Apostolic Deliverance Church for many years.</p> <p>As a young teenage girl,&nbsp; Sarah found the courage and determination to assisted in moving the Civil Rights Movement forward. She integrating Robert W. Groves High School in 1963 in Garden City,&nbsp; GA.&nbsp;</p> <p>After completing the task of integrating and graduating from high school,&nbsp; Sarah, attended Savannah Technical College.&nbsp; After receiving her training she moved to New York.&nbsp; Some years later in 1969 she had her daughter Tonya.&nbsp;</p> <p>Shorty after the birth of her daughter, Sarah accepted a job in Savannah,&nbsp; GA at Kaiser Chemicals.&nbsp; She worked there for many years until she got married and moved to Hardeeville,&nbsp; SC.</p> <p>After battling breast cancer for some years, on September 27th,&nbsp; 2020 Sarah Townsend Williams was called home to rest. She will be greatly missed!!</p> <p>She leaves to cherish her fond memories, her daughter Tonya M. Williams (Jerel) of Camden County,&nbsp; GA and her son Danny Jamar Williams of Savannah,&nbsp; GA. She has seven sisters Gertrude Sikes of Columbia, SC, Mary (Robert) Singleton of Pooler, GA, Janice T. Robinson of Pooler, GA, Susie &#39;Peggy&#39; Brinson of Beaufort,&nbsp; SC, Judy (James) Farmer of Rincon, GA, Audrey (Edward) Young of Rincon,&nbsp; GA, Pamela (Bernard) Brown of Rincon, GA. Three brothers Nathaniel (Melodie) Townsend of Rincon. GA, Archie (Paula) Mungin and Daniel (Phaedra) Mungin of Rincon, GA . Two grandchildren,&nbsp; Brandon T. Jenkins of Savannah,&nbsp; GA and Ammon R. E. P. Cotton of Camden County,&nbsp; GA. One great grandson Brayden T. Jenkins. She is proceeded in death by three aunts Juanita Bulloch,&nbsp; Pauline McCollum Valerie Moore. Three uncles Clarence, Dennis and Randy Porter. Two surviving aunts Florecilla Lemon (like a sister) and Willie Mae Wilburn. Six surviving uncle&#39;s Joseph (Pearlie Mae) Daugherty,&nbsp; Willie&nbsp; Porter, Emmitt (Shirley) Porter, Charles (Ann) Porter, Reverend John Porter (like a brother and son) and Richard Porter. One God sister Debora Griffin,&nbsp; two God daughters, Tammy Butler and Janette Mungin, one God son Rashad Chavers. She leaves behind a host of special nieces, nephews,&nbsp; cousins and friends that we wish that we could list them all by name.</p> <p><strong>Public viewing 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2020 at Campbell &amp; Sons Funeral Home 124 W. Park Ave. Savannah, GA&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Hillcrest Abbey West 1336 Dean Forest Rd. We celebrate the life and memory of Mrs. Sarah Ellis Townsend Williams whose death occurred Sunday, September 27, 2020 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

Mrs. Sarah Townsend Williams an unbelievable loving woman of God who stood out and stood up for making a difference in this world was born on February 14th, 1945 to the late Tearessie D. Mungin Townsend and Andrew James Townsend / Archie I. Mungin,  Sr. She was the oldest of nine children.
