Betty Jeanice Ferguson

Funeral services for Betty Jeanice Ferguson, age 90 of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2020 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Thomas Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery with James Wilson, Aaron Wilson, Michael Ferguson, Hayden Wilson, Mason Wilson, Ryan Ferguson and Dennis Ferguson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Brendan Godwin.  A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to service time. Betty passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Carriage House Manor.  Betty was born on October 6, 1929 in Westminster, Texas, the daughter of Elmer H. Newsom and Linnie Bell Holmes Newsom.  She married Celo Dean Ferguson on August 19, 1948 in Wheeler, TX. Betty was a member of Central Baptist Church and owned and operated her beauty shop in Garland.  She is survived by her son, Louis Ferguson of Sulphur Springs, daughter, Wanda Wilson and husband Thomas of Rowlett, sister, Vernice Penny of Waxahachie, grandchildren, Amber Godwin, James Wilson and wife Trina, Aaron Wilson and wife Samantha, Michael Ferguson and wife Sandy, great-grandchildren, Alex Godwin, Brendan Godwin, Sara Ferguson, Kaitlyn Wilson, Hayden Wilson, Mason Wilson, and Ryan Ferguson, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years, brothers, Y B Newsom, Cecil Newsom and sister, Glenzell Hawkins.  Social distancing and masks would be appreciated.
