Jonathan Randall Kline, USAF retiree of Shalimar Fl, passed away on September 27, 2020 at the age of 75.   He was born on March 5th 1945 in Garrettsville, OH, son of Arthur and Eloise Kline.  Jon graduated from LeTourneau University in 1967 after marrying his wife of 54 years, Sandra Jane (Horton) Kline.  He went into the USAF in 1967 serving for 21 years in USAF Acquisitions, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1988.  During his commission in the USAF, Jon continued his education at Central Michigan University obtaining a Master of Art Degree.  Jon worked on special projects during his time in the USAF, achieving multiple awards and recognitions for the KC-10 and AMRAAM.  Jon continued to work for various military contractors; Areojet, Lockheed Martin, TASC, and Northrup Grumman before fully retiring in 2005.

He was an active member of Shalimar Baptist Church, chairman of numerous committees in the church, a volunteer youth director, Sunday school teacher and a mentor to young adults. 

During retirement he focused on fishing, skiing, being an active triathlete, and volunteer for the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Kline, and two daughters, Joanette (Steven) Petrakis and Arica Mull.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Eryn Petrakis, Darrian Petrakis, Arden Mull and one brother Todd (Jane) Kline.

A visitation will be held at Shalimar Baptist Church on September 29, 2020 from 2:00 to 3:00 and funeral services to follow at 3:00 pm

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations made to Wounded War Project or the American Heart Association in Jon’s name.
