<p>Verta Mae Gill, age 70 of&nbsp;604 South Moore Street, Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, September 25, 2020 at her residence.</p> <p>Verta Mae was born July 17, 1950 in Sanford, N.C. at Lee County Hospital to the late James and Emma Jackson.&nbsp; On Friday, September 25, 2020, God sent his angel to 604 South Moore St. and called her home.</p> <p>Verta Mae was educated in the Lee County School System and Central Carolina Community College, where she obtained her professional license as a Certified Nursing Assistant.&nbsp; She worked over 30 years for Parkview / Shipman&rsquo;s Family Home Care as a dutiful caregiver, patient advocate and shift supervisor.</p> <p>Verta was a faithful member of Robinson Chapel AME Zion Church where she was an ordained deaconess, under the leadership of Rev. Iris Jordan, amongst various auxiliaries in the church until her health failed.</p> <p>Preceding her in death were her parents, James and Emma Jackson; her oldest son, Jonathon &ldquo;John John&rdquo; Jackson; a grandson, Rayshawn Wade; two brothers, James, Jr. and Ronnie Jackson; four nephews, Eric, Rodney, Michael &ldquo;TurnBuckle&rdquo; Jackson, and Joshua Buie; and best friend, Gloria (Tootsie) McLean.</p> <p>She leaves to cherish her memories: her youngest son, Jarvis Jackson (Tammy) of Sanford, NC;&nbsp; brothers, Donnie (April) and Curtis Jackson of Sanford, NC; sisters, Burnette Sanders (Edward) and Margaret Jackson of Sanford, NC, Jenny and Bonnie Jackson of New Rochelle, NY;&nbsp; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren;&nbsp; two special nieces, Nece Murchison and Toni Worthy of Sanford, NC;&nbsp; sisters-in-law, Lena Jackson and Frances Petty of Sanford, NC;&nbsp; a long time special friend, Willie &ldquo;Cromartie&rdquo; Jones, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.</p> <p>Professional Services Entrusted to: Knotts Funeral Home, Sanford</p> <p><strong>ATTENTION:&nbsp;&nbsp;Everyone that Enters the&nbsp;Funeral Home&nbsp;and or Attending the Services -&nbsp;MUST WEAR A MASK</strong></p> <p><strong>Thank you in&nbsp;advance&nbsp;for helping Us protect the families and communities that we serve.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Verta Mae Gill, age 70 of 604 South Moore Street, Sanford, NC transitioned into eternal rest on Friday, September 25, 2020 at her residence.

Verta Mae was born July 17, 1950 in Sanford, N.C. at Lee County Hospital to the late James and Emma Jackson.  On Friday, September 25, 2020, God sent his angel to 604 South Moore St. and called her home.

Verta Mae was educated in the Lee County School System and Central Carolina Community College, where she obtained her professional license as a Certified Nursing Assistant.  She worked over 30 years for Parkview / Shipman’s Family Home Care as a dutiful caregiver, patient advocate and shift supervisor.
