Janet Arlene Guthrie, 83, of Ottumwa, died at 6:10 a.m. September 24, 2020 at home. She was born June 18, 1937 in Ottumwa to William S. and Alma Cox Skinner Sr. She married Ronald Guthrie and he preceded her in death. Janet helped at the Salvation Army Thrift Store. She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her family and even the neighbor kids. Surviving is her son, Roger Guthrie (Betty Parcel) of Ottumwa; 4 grandchildren, Michael (Kimberly) Guthrie, Jack (Margaret) Widger, Kevin Guthrie and Jeff Guthrie; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, June Carnahan, Ruth (Mike) Henderson, Debra (Joel) Humble, Ronald (Angie) Skinner all of Ottumwa and David (Mabel) Skinner of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Guthrie; siblings, John, Larry and Bill Skinner, Linda Kruse, Joyce Burkman, Emma McElfish and Loretta Adamson. Her body has been cremated. Graveside services and inurnment for her and her son, Ricky will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating.
