Margaret Ellen Tuttle

TUTTLE, Margaret E. (Thompson), age 84, of Centerville, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Bethany Village in Centerville, Ohio. Margaret was born on May 27, 1936 in Delphos, OH. She was a loving and dedicated wife to Norman Tuttle for over 44 years. A devoted mother and mother-in-law, attentive grandmother, caring great-grandmother, proud aunt, great-aunt and great, great-aunt. She will be remembered for her positive outlook, cheery personality, compassion, and generosity. She enjoyed many trips to Florida with family and friends and other adventures in Alaska, England, Australia, Fiji, Germany, and Canada. She served Normandy United Methodist Church, Normandy United Methodist Women, Greater Dayton Emmaus Community and the Centerville Sister City Committee in a variety of ways. She made many fond memories and treasured friends working with the Normandy Bazaar for over 40 years both as an artisan and a leader in the Antiques Booth. Her other pursuits included selling numerous types of hand-crafted gifts at local art festivals and shops and even teaching macrame classes at the Centerville Mill in the late 1970's. Margaret was a Lifetime Member of Delphos Chapter #26, Order of the Eastern Star. For her work as a Board Member of Hope Assembly #113, International Order of the Rainbow for Girls she earned the organization's highest honor, the Grand Cross of Color. Her love of the game of bridge is legendary and she was active in several bridge groups in the South Dayton area. She found many dear friends around the bridge tables of the South Dayton area. Margaret graduated from The Ohio State University in 1958 with a B.S. in Home Economics Education and taught high school home economics at Old Fort High School and Johnstown High School in the 1960's. More recently, she worked at Growth Play in Beavercreek (formerly H. R. Chally) from 1986-2018, starting in the testing department before moving to accounts receivable. Margaret is preceded in death by parents, Nell E. (Thomas) and Roscoe N. Thompson; in-laws, Florence (Battles) and William L. Tuttle; husband, Norman L. Tuttle; son-in-law, Jon D. Liston; brother-in-law, Gerald Tuttle; nephews, Adam Tuttle and Matt E. Ulrich. She is survived by daughter, Kimberley (Tuttle)Liston-Lake and son-in-law Robert Lake of Oakwood; grandson, Jonathan Liston, his fiancée, Holly Owens; and great-grand daughter, Madelyn Liston of Kettering; daughter, Deb (Tuttle) Nelson; son-in-law, Allen; and grandsons, Josh, Luke and Jared Nelson of Centerville; sisters, Nelldene (Thompson) Babcock of Gahanna, OH, Kathy (Thompson) Ulrich and brother-in-law Ed Ulrich of Delphos, OH; niece, Lori (Babcock) Shawhan, and husband, Jeff; nephews, Steve Babcock and wife, Michelle of Columbus, OH Andy Ulrich of Lima, OH, and Scott Ulrich and wife Diana Wang of Columbus, OH, David Tuttle of Mentor, OH, Tom Tuttle of Cleveland, OH, and Steve Tuttle and wife Martha Tuttle of Ashtabula, OH; brother-in-law, Henry Tuttle and sister-in-law Carol Tuttle of Madison, OH; and a host great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will be at ROUTSONG FUNERAL HOME CENTERVILLE CHAPEL, 81 NORTH MAIN STREET, CENTERVILLE, OH from 4-7pm on Monday, September 28, 2020. Funeral Service will take place 10am on Tuesday, September 29 at the funeral home, Rev. David Tackett officiating; burial at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens.
