Duane L. Prescott 66, of Newfield, NY died unexpectedly September 23, 2020 while enjoying a round of golf at the HollyBrook golf course in Spencer, NY.

Born in Maine, he was the son of the late Leander and Maxine Hannon Prescott..

Duane had worked several years in the Catskills as a trail guide for recreational guided horseback rides. In more recent years he had worked at Trans Act in Lansing. He enjoyed the outdoors and being with friends. Golfing, hunting, and bowling were his passions. Duane was always known as someone who would make you laugh and forget about your troubles. He was quick to lend a hand and give you the shirt off his back if needed. He will be missed.

He is survived by his longtime significant other, Tina M. Belden and her daughter, Jennifer Doolittle, both of Newfield. His sister and her husband, Deborah and Clifton Todd of Groton, several nieces and nephews and his devoted dog Cheyenne.

Graveside services will be held Monday, September 28 at 2 o’clock at the North Lansing Cemetery with Rev. Sam Neno officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the SPCA of one’s choice.
