Margery A. Pearson, age 94 of Hastings, died peacefully on her birthday, September 25, 2020, at Regina Senior Living in Hastings. Margery Arlene, the daughter of William and Emma (Malon) Dode, was born on September 25, 1926, in Chicago. Following her graduation from Carl Schurz High School, Margery began working at Weibolts Department Store and was later united in marriage to Robert E. Pearson on November 6, 1949. They honeymooned to Gonvick, Minnesota, a small town in Northwestern Minnesota, where they fell in love with the area and eventually moved to Fosston. Margery worked as the parish secretary at Hope Lutheran Church where she also enjoyed singing in the choir. As Robert's eyesight began to fail, they later moved to Minneapolis until his passing in 1991. Even up to her last days, Margery wasn't afraid to let you know where she stood. She was a lovable, caring, and compassionate friend to many. Margery loved her life, and enjoyed every step of the way. She and Robert enjoyed polka dancing, entertaining and socializing with friends, and camping. She also had a special love for her many animals she and her family took in over the years. Most of all, Margery loved the time spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; daughter, Cindy Thorstad; and by her sister, Dorothy (Richard) Witt. She is survived by her sons, Greg and Dale; Greg's former wife, Linda; son-in-law, Joe Thorstad; grandchildren, Angela Pearson, Melissa (Brian) Pearson-Zigas, and Brian (Maria) Thorstad; eight great grandchildren; and by many other relatives and friends. Private family services will be held at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with interment being held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
