Tony Larry Medina Obituary

On Monday, September 21st, 2020, Tony Larry Medina was called home peacefully, and reunited with his Kitty Kat (wife), Kathy Medina, who preceded him in passing. He was born June 6th, 1948, in Del Norte, Colorado, and later resided in Cortez, Colorado, Ogden, Utah, and settled in Midvale, Utah where he spent the remainder if his life. He was also preceded in passing by his Mother Millie Perez, and Father Amy Medina, his brothers Fred, and Ben Medina, and his daughter Millie Medina-Mestas. Tony was a strong man, hard working man, who spent the majority of his life before retirement as a construction foreman with Ames Construction. But even after retirement, he was determined to remain busy by traveling, and roasting chilies. He lived a simple life, and enjoyed tending to his garden, relaxing outside with a good book, and getting together with friends to exchange stories and jokes. His witty sense of humor made it impossible to have a conversation with him without laughing at some point, which along with other beautiful qualities, made it easy for him to leave his fingerprint on the hearts of everyone he encountered, whether they were family, friends, or neighbors. To him they were all one in the same, as he was always willing to help anyone if he could. Even if they were a stranger. One of his greatest honors was serving as a U.S. Marine, and he was very proud to display it. If you knew his name, you knew he was a Marine. As proud as he was of this accomplishment, he was even more proud of his family.

He is survived by his sons Tony Medina (Dee), and Eddie Garcia (Lucia) Father and Mother of granddaughter Chandler, Vickie Medina (Steve), Mother of grandsons Tyler Littlefield, and Destry Littlefield, Father of great granddaughter Milah Samora, and Greg Griswold, Son of earlier mention Millie Medina-Mestas, and Father of great granddaughter Kali Griswold. He is also survived by his Sister Juanita Woods, Mother of Nephew Larry Arellano.

There is no way to sum up such a great man in a few words, and not enough words to describe what he meant to this world. He will be greatly missed, but will remain forever in our hearts as a feeling of love with no words needed. Rest peacefully knowing that your job here is done, and your presence was a blessing.

A viewing and Rosary will be held Sunday, Sept 27th from 6 pm to 8 pm at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S State Street, Midvale, Utah, 84047.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept 28th beginning at 9 am with Mass at 11 am, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7832 Allen, Midvale, Utah 84047.
