D.C. Waddell, Jr., 74, of Center Star, Alabama, passed away on May 22nd, 2017 at his home after battling health issues the past several years. Private visitation with family was May 23rd, 2017 at Rogersville Funeral Home. Memorial service will be June 4th, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home with Bill Lyons officiating. Mr. Waddell was preceded in death by his parents, D.C. & Marie Waddell. He is survived by his wife of 57 year, Martha Nell Waddell; children, Martha Jean (Jerry) Baker, Carolyn (Ricky) Wallace, Johnny (Beth) Waddell, Cynthia Peppers and Jamey (Chrissy) Waddell; siblings, James (Linda) Waddell, Shelby Tucker (the late Horace Tucker) and Bearl Whitsett; grandchildren, Jessica (Tyler) Strait, Daniel Howard, Tosha Wallace, Jeremy Wallace, Josh Waddell, Jennifer (Lee) Anderson, Laken Waddell, Kaeland Waddell, Brittany (Andrew) Horn, Stephanie (Sam) Hurst and Robert (Tamara) Ryan; great-grandchildren, Madison, Morgan, and Carson Howard, Everly Straight, Jaxson Anderson, Ashtyn, Kelsie and Taylor Wallace, Audrey, Landon, Ronin, Kylo Ren Ryan. The family wishes to thank Ala-Care Home Health and Kindred Hospice for their love and care. Dad was a life-long carpenter by trade, building houses for Ronald Warren Properties for 20 years and then with TVA for 20 years. Dad’s passion was crappie fishing, spending time on the river and was periodically the song leader for over 40 years at church. A favorite family memory was singing in the car with his family going to and from church. Daddy will love the beautiful singing in Heaven. Until we meet again Paw Paw, we love you!
