Christina Marie Thomas Minot, North Dakota Obituary

Christina Marie Thomas

Christina Marie Thomas, 21, Kief, North Dakota passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2020, at her home. Christina was born to Michelle Zak and Rodney Thomas on Christmas Eve of 1998 in Minot, North Dakota. She was beautiful, the Christmas present her dad always wanted, and he would always treat her as if she was the greatest gift ever, as she was to all of us. Christina attended schools in Drake, Velva, and Harvey, North Dakota until her sophomore year when she moved to Mora, Minnesota with her mother and attended school there. Christina eventually moved back to North Dakota and lived in Kief with her father up until the time of her passing. During Christina’s short life, she touched the lives of many family and friends who loved her sweetness, spontaneity, free-spirit, and fun personality. Christina could always be found listening to music and she enjoyed every genre, from her dad’s rock to country to pop. When she was young, she was thrilled when she got to see Jewel sing live with her dad as she loved to sing along to her songs. Her greatest love was her min-pin, ‘Marley’, or as she called her, “Mar Mar”, and her two cats, Jewel and, more recently, Bootsie. Her favorite saying was “Either you’re gonna like me or you’re gonna hate me, but before I leave, I bet you’re gonna love me.” Christina is survived by her mother, Michelle Zak, Minot; father, Rodney Thomas, Kief; sisters, Crystal (Landon), Velva and Hannah, Becida, MN; brother, Michael and his children, Damien and Aliya, all of Atkin, MN; step-grandfather, Scott Johnson, Crosby, MN; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Michael and Dorothy Thomas, Cheryl Johnson, and Dale Zak. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 10 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe, ND, with burial to follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Karlsruhe. Visitation will be on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 4-6 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in Minot with a Rosary service at 6 pm.
