Mary "Bea" Farmer

<p>Mary &ldquo;Bea&rdquo; Farmer, 67, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at the Abels Funeral and Cremation Service, Creps Chapel in Eldora. Inurnment will be held privately by the family at Eldora City Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.&nbsp;</p> <p>Bea was born on February 15, 1953 in Iowa City, Iowa. She was chosen as the beloved daughter of Elmer and Laura (Pinkham) Larsen and was raised in Cedar Falls. There she graduated from Cedar Falls High School in the class of 1971. After high school she went on to study at UNI for four years. Bea was united in marriage to John Farmer on July 28, 1979. She worked in the agricultural industry for many years before her love of animals led her to the Midwest Vet Clinic in Hubbard Iowa. She loved her job and worked there for 27 years until her retirement.</p> <p>Bea was very proud of her Danish heritage. She loved photography and taking pictures of her family, especially her grandchildren and their sporting events and special moments. Bea loved to cook and was an avid collector of pens. She was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority and really enjoyed sports especially football, basketball, rugby and wrestling. Bea also really loved to keep the stats for John while he coached basketball. John and Bea enjoyed 41 happy years together and during that time made yearly trips with friends and family to Duluth, Minnesota for the Blues Festival.</p> <p>Bea is survived by her husband John Farmer; daughter Jennifer Farmer-Thiesen; son Gus (Maria) Farmer and step-son Michael Lawler; grandchildren Cameron Farmer, Elizabeth Thiesen, Carter Langreck, Cody Langreck, Cayden Langreck and Keaton Farmer; brother John Larsen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Laura Larsen.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
