April T. Mayer, 58, a resident of South Stream Road, passed away September 21, 2020 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. April was born in Bennington, VT on April 20, 1962 the daughter of the late Leonard and Megan Crawford Wilkinson. She attended Arlington, VT schools, graduated from Arlington High School and earned her Bachelor Degree from North Adams State College, now known as MCLA. April loved caring for children. She worked at the Sunrise Family Resource Center for over 20 years and then Easter Seals and worked part time in the kitchen at the Vermont Veterans Home. April enjoyed tag sales, going to Old Orchard Beach, Maine, travelling to Hawaii and enjoyed listening to country music. April is survived by her husband Dale Mayer, Sr. of Pownal whom she married in Bennington July 1, 1989, her son Dale Mayer, Jr of Rutland, VT, her daughter Tammy Telford (Joshua) of White Creek, NY, siblings Stanley, Walt, Vernon, Myron, Mark, Gerry and Ricky Wilkinson, George McCray, Gloria Moffitt and Norma Crandall and grandchildren Maxwell Joseph Mayer, Jacy Valencia Mayer and Braxton Lee Mayer. Graveside funeral services for April will be held Saturday September 26, 2020 at 1pm at Evergreen Cemetery in Arlington, VT. There are no visiting hours.
