“John” Walter Adams, age 77, of McGrady, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem. He was born March 3, 1943 in Wilkes County to Charles and Stella Cardwell Adams. John was retired from Lowe’s Companies as a supervisor. He loved nature and was a spirited person. He loved fishing and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds. John loved watching baseball and watching his grandchildren. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy Adams; sisters, Judy Gilbert, Iva Dean Byrd and Pat Wingler. John is survived by his wife, Kathy Absher Adams; daughters, Robin Annette Adams Faw and spouse Bruce of Millers Creek, Angela Lynn Adams and fiancé Jerry Blevins of Boomer, Sherry Adams Dobson and spouse Samuel of Statesville; son, Michael Scott Adams and spouse Ginny of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Jacob Faw, Samantha Adams, Kailey Sizemore, Trent Adams, Chase Dobson, great grandchildren, Chris Smith, Gavin Adams, Skyler Sizemore, Kade Sizemore; brothers, David Adams and spouse Coralis of Kannapolis, Ernest Adams and spouse Faye of Georgia, Jerry Adams and spouse Susan of Kannapolis; sisters, Barbara Moore and spouse Tom, Carolyn Darnell and spouse Roger all of Millers Creek; several nieces and nephews.
