<p>Mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend. Beautiful, smart, motivated, spiritual and loving. Monica Vaughn was all of these things and more.&nbsp;</p> <p>Monica Vaughn, daughter of Altha Vaughn and the late Charlie Vaughn, was born March 15, 1968, in Oxford, Mississippi. Monica grew up in a loving Christian home. She&nbsp;accepted Christ as&nbsp;her savior at an early age and became a member of the Clear Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She continued her Christian journey after she moved and joined True Vine Missionary Baptist Church.</p> <p>Monica received her formal education&nbsp;in the Oxford School district and was a graduate of Oxford High Class of 1986. She furthered her education at Jackson State University where she received her Bachelor's Degree. She was employed&nbsp; with Blue Cross Blue Shield as an Accounts Payable Supervisor.&nbsp;</p> <p>Monica was the proud mother of four wonderful children, one of whom preceded her in death. She loved fashion and was a fashion diva, she enjoyed reading, shopping, singing and spending time with family.&nbsp;</p> <p>It may have seemed so sudden but God has always had the plan. On Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Our Lady of Lake Regional Center, in Baton Rogue LA, we didn't get to see you close your eyes, we didn't get to hear your last sigh, we only heard that you were gone and we didn't get to say goodbye. But, it was God's plan and we will see you again.&nbsp;</p> <p>Monica has gone home&nbsp;to join her son: Sharod Vaughn and her father: Charlie Vaughn who preceded her in death. She will be forever remembered by her mother: Altha "Jackie" Vaughn of Oxford MS; her children: Shaquita Vaughn and Shaquille Vaughn of Oxford MS and Rashad (Shynekwa) Vaughn of Chattanooga TN; her brothers: Calvin (Pam) Vaughn of Jackson MS, Edward (Lisa) Vaughn and Fernanda (Sandra) Vaughn both of Oxford MS; Vivian Brown, Carolyn Vaughn, and Kimiranda Vaughn all of Oxford MS, Melanie (Ronnie) Wilson of Horn Lake MS, Teretta Vaughn and Vonetta Vaughn both of Dallas TX. She also leaves seven loving grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, along with her god-sisters: Didra Bolton, Jackson MS, Lisa Richards, Oxford MS and Lesley Antoine-Hammond, Atlanta GA and her special friend: Michael Sanders Atlanta GA.</p>

Mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, friend. Beautiful, smart, motivated, spiritual and loving. Monica Vaughn was all of these things and more. 

Monica Vaughn, daughter of Altha Vaughn and the late Charlie Vaughn, was born March 15, 1968, in Oxford, Mississippi. Monica grew up in a loving Christian home.
