Other survivors include one brother, James Sherman Lewis (Linda) of Loveland, Ohio; two sisters, Wilma Lutz of Chapin, South Carolina, DeEtta Lewis of Bellaire, Texas; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Violet was an accountant for Lewis International Garage, Monarch Supply and First Federal Savings and Loan, retiring in 2012 after working 61 years.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.  She and Wilbur loved nature and sharing their expansive knowledge with their children about every bird, tree, and wildflower they encountered.  Antiquing was another passion of Violet and Wilbur, as was cruising around town in their red T-Bird convertible.  She was a member of Morehead First Church of the Nazarene.
