PEORIA, IL—Laneta Marie Bean, 52, of Peoria, passed away on September 22, 2020 at 6:37 p.m. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Laneta was born March 6, 1968 in Little Rock, AR to David McClendon and Wilma Egans. She married Mark Bean and he survives. Also surviving are her father, David McClendon of Little Rock, AR; one sister, Michelle McClendon of Little Rock, AR; two brothers, Edward Willis and David McClendon, Jr., both of Little Rock, AR; her mother-in-law, Nova Bean of Dunlap; three sisters-in-law, Wendy Junk of Galesburg, Sue (Robin) Johnson of Dunlap, and Linda (Dean) Rupert of Galesburg; one brother-in-law, Rick Bean of Galesburg; one step-daughter, Amye (Joe) Peterson of Galesburg; one step-son, Jacob Bean of Denver, CO; one aunt, Elnora Ward; two uncles, John Medlock and Jimmy Mayon, both of Little Rock, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews. A special acknowledgment to Yvonne Haymon, Crystal “Sissy” Mayon, and Edward Kimbrough. Laneta was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Egans; one brother, Kenneth Adams; her grandmother, Lonnie B. Mayon; father-in-law, Vernon Bean; and her sister-in-law, Marci McClendon. Laneta graduated from Galesburg High School and worked in the medical field. She helped with special needs children and helped raise her nephews Dominique, Demarco, and William McClendon. She was a member of Peoria Heights Suburban Lion’s Club. Cremation rites were accorded. Laneta was a member of the Peoria Heights Congregational Church, where memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 3, 2020, with the Reverend Rick Simkins officiating. Visitation will be one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be made to the Peoria Heights Suburban Lion’s Club, 2415 N.E. Madison, Peoria, IL 61603.
