James Phillip Schoulten Obituary

James Phillip Schoulten “Jim”, 60, of Huntington Beach, California, went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2020 after a battle with cancer at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, California.

James Schoulten was born in Fort Lee, Virginia to Catherine and Phillip Schoulten on October 25, 1959.  He went to Walnut High School and graduated in 1978.  He was a certified Journeyman Plumber and performed various jobs for industrial plumbing contractors at Hospitals, Football Stadiums (SoFi Stadium, Coliseum, Football Club), and various hotels.  He actively played in various sports, including karate, water skiing, track, baseball, and football.  The activities he currently enjoyed were jet skiing, desert riding in his CanAm, gardening, and activities with family and friends. Our second home at Colorado River in Ehrenberg, Arizona was his oasis and he valued his many friendships there.  Jim was a proud member of Beachcities Community Church and adored his church family.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Schoulten “Terri”; his son, Kevin Schoulten, step-son and daughter, Brian Moreno and Deanna Duncan.  He is also survived by five grandchildren, Ethan Schoulten, Brianna Moreno, Skylar Wrinkle, Taylor Duncan, and Mason Moreno.

Jim is also survived by his mother and father, Catherine and William Horchar; two sisters, Debbie Peterson and Cathy Ortuno; and brother, Perry Schoulten, with two nieces, Kimberly Hartman and Perryann Schoulten; and nephews, Tom Kelly, Kieth Stuebner, Michael Schoulten, Billy Schoulten, Bret Peterson, and Robie Peterson.

Memorial Services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Beach cities Community Church.  Memorial donations may be made to Hoag Cancer Center.  We appreciate all the love and prayers from our family and friends.  Please wear your masks and parking is limited so carpool if possible.
