Nicolas Garcia Arredondo Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Nicolas Garcia Arredondo Jr. announces his passing on Monday September 21, 2020 at the age of 77 years.  Nicolas was born on October 1, 1942 in Alamo Texas the seventh of eight siblings to Nicolas Arredondo Sr.  and Carlota Garcia.  He married the love of his life Zenaida P. Rodriguez on August 20, 1962 and together they raised five daughters.

Nicolas was a very hard worker and had a very strong work ethic, he worked many jobs; He migrated from Texas to Idaho and Oregon for agricultural work with his family for many years. He was a squad leader for the Bureau of Land Management in Vale Oregon where he fought many fires. He worked for  Daryl “Bee” Manning in Paul, Idaho for 14 years, Circle A hauling beets, Forrest Arthur hauling sheep and Calvin and Alicia Dredge hauling livestock. Nicolas retired from Transystem in 2008. He loved driving truck, he drove to many places and drove millions of miles and hauled many different things. Nicolas always had a dream of being a professional truck driver and against all odds he fulfilled that dream, he always taught his children and grandchildren that they could do anything they wanted if they worked for it.

He always had a story to tell, he loved to share stories of all the different experiences he had in life.  Nicolas loved to visit with friends and family and make people laugh by telling great jokes; he had a great sense of humor.  He loved to watch wrestling and talk about the shows with his grandchildren. Nicolas enjoyed watching western cowboy shows and movies, he was our “Real Cowboy”.  He was a great dancer and loved to dance with his beautiful wife Zenaida, they always looked like they were dancing on a cloud.  He also enjoyed playing cards and taking his wife to the casino. Nicolas liked to go fishing and plant his garden. His way of planting a garden is letting the great-grandchildren throw the seeds down and then he would water the seeds and when the great grandchildren would come over, they would go check to see if there was anything there. He could grow great tomatoes, pumpkins and watermelons. He loved to take the grandchildren to pick apples and nectarines off his trees and eat them and share a story together. Nicolas loved to cook for his family, especially breakfast for all his children. He was a very generous and kind man; he was a family man who cared for his family so much. He loved all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren they were his everything and was so proud of them all.  We are so blessed and thankful to God to have had him for so many years, he will be greatly missed.

Nicolas will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Zenaida and his children, Sylvia Arredondo of Twin Falls, ID, Rebecca(Joey) Castro of Soledad, CA. Linda(Jesse)Castro of Rupert, ID, Christina(David) Rodriguez of Heyburn ID and Carlota(Cristobal Marcos) Zurita of Caldwell,ID.
