Audrey Ann Carter

On September 19, 2020 at 10:38 am Audrey Peeples-Carter departed this life at Jamaica Hospital Center in Jamaica, New York . Audrey Carter (daughter of Allen Beatrice Peeples) was born March 21st, 1939 in Barnwell, South Carolina. She was the sixth eldest of 14 children. Early in her childhood , she was baptized and attended Jordan Baptist Church in Barnwell, South Carolina. Upon moving to New York in 1959, she attended Zion Temple Baptist Church and later served at Advanced Baptist Church as an usher and later became President of the Usher board until her transition. In May of 1957, Audrey received her high school diploma from Butler High School in Barnwell , South Carolina. Audrey worked various jobs, but her career was with the New York City Police Department Division of School Safety. After 25 years of service, she retired. On December 29,1959, Audrey married Aaron Carter. Through this union, three daughters (Cynthia, Donna, and Tracy) and one son, Lester (previously deceased) were born. Audrey was a no nonsense kind of woman, but in the same light she had a deep love for family. Audrey was loved and known by many, especially by her neighborhood, and school of kids and parents. Audrey was full of life as she loved to eat and go to countless bus outings with her friends. The core of who she was, was being surrounded by family always, especially of her brother and sisters. Audrey showed her love, the only way she knew how. Her greatest love was to immerse herself with her grandchildren. After retirement, she lived for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her memories would be cherished by Aaron Carter, the father of their children of Barnwell, South Carolina, her three daughters, Cynthia Carter, Donna Carter-Chatman, and Tracy- Carter (Stanley) Moody of Jamaica, NY, three grandsons, Marvin Jerome Carter, Kwame Moody and Kamal Moody, two granddaughters, Pamela (Oscar) Barrientos and Khalia Jackson of Jamaica, NY, her great grandson Marcus Carter and great granddaughter Makayla Carter, one brother and one sister-in-law, Herman and (Mary) Peeples of Barnwell, South Carolina. Audrey leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Lovingly Submitted The Family
