Maria Elena Leal, 72, passed away September 22, 2020. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Isidore Ochiabuto officiating. Burial will follow at Abilene Municipal Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.
Mrs. Leal was born November 16, 1947, in Abilene, Texas to Ysabel and Antonia Valencia.
Survivors include husband Gilbert Leal; 4 daughters Mary Ortiz and husband Mike, Virginia Valencia, Sandy Martinez, Teresa Harrington and husband John: 2 sons Adolfo Martinez Jr., Joey Martinez and wife Diana; 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Leal was preceded in death by her father Isabel Valencia; Mother Antonia Ramirez Valencia; brothers Richard Valencia, Fred Valencia, and Jessie Valencia; sisters Isabel Cisneros and Inez Vasquez.
Pallbearers include Anthony Martinez, David Martinez, JJ Martinez, Gabriel Castanon, Israel Vasquez, AJ Woodard, Brandon Stephenson, and Thomas Stephenson.
The family will receive friends at a visitation Monday, September 28, 2020 from 6-8 PM at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 N. 12th Street.
