Maria Iturralde Gallaga, 85, of Baytown, passed away Monday, September 21, 2020, in Baytown.

Maria was born December 5, 1934 in Linares, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, to parents; Ignacio and Hilaria Iturralde, and has resided in Baytown for the past 53 years.  She retired from custodial services and was a member of El Taller del Maestro Church.  Maria enjoyed gardening and helping others.  She will be remembered as a generous, kind soul, and grandmother to all.

Mrs. Gallaga was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raul Gallaga, brothers; Guadalupe, Vicente, Rodrigo and sisters; Reyna and Elvira. She is survived by her sister Agustina Barreda and sons, Jesus Garza Iturralde of Mexico, Roberto and Mary Jane Garza of Angleton, Ruperto and Raylynn Gallaga, of Pearland and Raul Gallaga, Jr., of Baytown; daughters, Emilia Gonzalez of Baytown and Ana Maria Verastegui and husband, David, of Cypress; grandchildren, Jesus, Nicholas and Gloria Iturralde, Cesar Garza, Emy, Elsa and Eduardo Gonzalez, Gilbert Raul, Alyssa, Jacob and Monica Gallaga, Gabriela, Manuel, Ricardo, Raul III, Gallaga, David Jr., Michael and Kaitlynn Verastegui; and twenty-two great grandchildren.

Maria’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Harbor Hospice and Focused Care at Allenbrook for their care given to Mrs. Gallaga.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 26, 2020, at the Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Cedarcrest Cemetery in Baytown.
