James David Matt, Sr., 79, Leavenworth died Sept. 20, 2020. He was born Feb. 3, 1941 in Boone, IA to Mary (Wilt) and William Matt. James graduated from Sacred Heart H.S. in Boone and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1959-1963. He worked as a carpenter with Local 201 and in his free time loved playing guitar, the Indian flute, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his children: James Matt, II, Melanie Matt, Mitchell Matt (Valerie), Eric Matt, Cynthia Matt, and Nathaniel Matt (Julie); his twin brother Thomas, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Matt will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Boone, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
