<p>Mr. James Dean Covington son of Mrs. Sally Gunn Covington and the late Luther Covington, Jr. was born September 10, 1959 in Union County, North Carolina. And departed this life on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Atrium health Care-Union, Monroe, North Carolina. </p> <p>James graduated from Monroe high School and later joined the United States navy serving eight years and was honorable discharge from the United States Navy. in 1986 he came back to Monroe, NC and secured a position at Teledyne Allvac, where he later retired after 29 years of service. <br /> James was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his father: Luther June Covington, one brother: Martin Luther Covington and sister: Lula Ivey Mills.</p> <p>He leaves to cherish his fond memories: His Mother: Mrs. Sally Gunn Covington of Monroe, NC. His brothers: Roger Dale Covington (Deborah) of Waxhaw, N.C. and Baxter Boyd Covington (Wanda) of Monroe, NC. Sisters: Ms. Barbara Ann Covington of Charlotte, NC. , Mrs. Cynthia Elaine Morrow (Dennis). Mrs. Eva Covington Robinson (John) of Monroe, NC and Mrs. Rita Carol Leak (Tim) of Wingate, NC. Aunts: Ms. Josie Webb of Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Ruth Mae Stafford of Monroe, NC, Mrs. Fannie Mae Duncan of Mint Hill, NC and Mrs. Mary Hardison of Springhill, Fla..
