Barbara "Gail" Strandberg

Barbara “Gail” Strandberg-----69, Minot, died Sunday, September 20, 2020 in a Minot hospital.  Barbara “Gail” Jett was born on August 23, 1951, a daughter of Donald and Mildred (Hiller) Jett in Hillsboro, IL. She was raised and educated in Hillsboro, where she graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1969.  On May 21, 1971, Gail was united in marriage to Gary Strandberg at the Presbyterian Church in Donnellson, IL. They made their home in Hillsboro, where Gail worked as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for the Greenville Hospital and the Hillsboro Hospital. She later transferred to the Minot Air Force Base Hospital where she worked in various departments including OB, Transcription, and Mental and Psychiatric Health. During this time, Gail soared.  She was very well respected and admired by patients, colleagues, and superiors; and earned many recognitions and honors over the years. She was a shining light and service example of God.  She drew people in and shared her love for God, changing the lives of many along the way. She retired on April 31, 2014.                                                                                                                                           She was a member of the Apostolic Faith Church of Minot, where she was active in all ministries of the church where a helping hand was needed. Gail enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping at Lake Metigoshe and fishing. She enjoyed entertaining at holidays, and riding horseback.  Gail loved to collect Jim Shore handcrafted designs, she loved auctions (always keeping her “reserved” seat) for the bargains and treasures; but more importantly, the fellowships and conversations.  She loved keeping in touch with family members and the friends she met along the way.  She loved Illinois mushrooms!!  She was a wonderful cook and often invented wonderful creations by just throwing together something she had in her pantry.  She loved unconditionally and forgave all things quietly, big or small.  She had a fierce, humble strength which always protected all those blessed enough to have her in our lives.  She will be missed.  Gail is survived by:Husband of 49 years, Gary;  Children: Tim (Mary Grace) Strandberg of Minot, and their children Helena and Edwardson of Gudivada, India; Aaron (Kim) Strandberg of Fargo, and their children Tyler (Fiancée Paige) of Bismarck, Kaitlyn and Morgan of Fargo; Allen Touche of Minneapolis and his son Carlton;A sister Terri (Ron) Duff of Donnellson, IL;Nephew Ryan (Rachel) Duff of Donnellson, IL and their children Zach and Cooper;Niece Mandy (Duff) Wessell of Hillsboro, IL and her children Adaley and Abram;Loving family in the Hillsboro and Greenville, IL areas  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.  Visitation: Saturday, September 26, 2020, from 11 am until service time at the Apostolic Faith Church, Minot, ND.
