David Ernest Hunt December 9, 1937 – September 21, 2020 David passed away peacefully at the Western Health Palliative Care Unit, Corner Brook on Monday, September 21, 2020. He was predeceased by his wife, Isabel, July 29, 2011. Leaving to carry on his legacy are his son, Mark; brother, Fred (Carolyn); sisters, Marion (Lloyd Burton); Gloria (Elwood Parsons); sisters-in-law, Joan Hunt and Elaine (Hunt) Chubbs; brother-in-law, Al Wilby; and special aunt, Veda Hann. His in-laws; Lena, Judy, and Emily Bolt, Ernest (Claudine) Blanchard, Una Lovell, Roland (Gloria) Blanchard and Rodney, Jean Combdon, Averil Blanchard, Jordy (Maureen) Blanchard, Anita Blanchard, Brian (Marie) Blanchard, Larry (Peggy) Blanchard. He will be dearly missed, also, by his nieces and nephews, extended family and his many friends. David was predeceased by his parents, Frederick and Marilla Hunt; his brothers, John, Donald, Ralph, Wayne; his sisters, Elizabeth, Joyce; his brothers-in-law, James Fox and Moody Wells; his sisters-in-law, Joan Hunt and Sherry Hunt. David had many friendships, which he cherished, while living at Bayshore Estates in Irishtown. He was deeply involved in day-to-day activities for the residents. He was a strong advocate for seniors’ rights, and he believed in equality and dignity of life for everyone. David was an avid reader, passionate about world events, loved to chat about current affairs, and enjoyed a good game of cards with family and friends. His was a life well lived. A Celebration of David’s Life will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Summerside, Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the St. Paul’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund or a Charity of one’s choice. No flowers by request. Fly with the Angels – Your work here is done. Due to Government of Newfoundland Labrador Covid19 Regulations Funerals will be limited to 100 people (including the officiant), physical distancing must be maintained between individuals. Each family bubble can sit together without physical distancing. Masks are required while inside, except when seated. Due to Covid19 restrictions, there will be no social gathering after David’s Celebration of Life.
