Margaret "Marge" Katherine (Lawton) Tennies, 73, of Jackson, WI, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, September 21, 2020. Many of us knew Marge for her warm heart, her limitless conversation, and fun-loving spirit. The times you spent with Marge left you with a smile and memories to cherish. Marge showed us the importance of accepting the curves on life's journey. Marge was the epitome of kindness and compassion. We were beyond blessed to have had her all these years, but the loss still hurts. There are pieces of our hearts that she carried with her to heaven, but she is at peace and finally reunited with her beloved Joey. Marge was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Milwaukee, WI, on June 14, 1947. After attending Slinger High School, she married John "Jack" L. Tennies Sr. of Slinger, on May 13, 1967 at St. Hubert's Church in Hubertus, WI. She filled her time being a wonderful mother to Julie, John, Mary, Jeff, and Joey. She retired from Slinger School District after providing many works of service through various "routes" of employment. She thoroughly enjoyed one of her last roles as a caregiver to the three children across the street. Marge poured her heart and soul into making priceless memories with her family and friends, tending to her beautiful flowers, and quilting many masterpieces. She added a dash of love to all her baked goods and recipes for her friends and family to enjoy. She cherished the time spent Up North at the Cabin, and at ball diamonds with Jack, their family, and friends. Marge is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, John “Jack”, 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. They are as follows: Julia (Tim) Erickson- grandchildren Cassidy (special friend, Adam) Erickson, great grandchild Leland, Conner (fiancée, Kendyl) Erickson John Tennies Jr. - grandchildren Nicole, Tessa, and Jaelle Tennies Mary (Jeff) Kutsche- grandchildren Samantha (Parker) Hughes, and Amber Kutsche Jeffrey (Heather) Tennies- grandchildren Austin (Kierra) Tennies, Michaela Mitchell, Maggie, and Frankie Tennies Brother, Wayne Lawton, and Sister, Linda Lawton In- laws: Carol (Dan) Goetz, Jim (Debbie) Tennies, David (Lynn) Tennies, Larry (Kak) Tennies, Joan Pauley, Mark (Joetta) Tennies, Jean (Dan) Frey Marge is preceded in death by her son, Joseph "Joey" J. Tennies, her parents, Dorothy and Elmer Lawton, her in-laws, Anna and Lawrence Tennies, and sister in-law, Caroline Tennies. Our final words to her... "We love you more!" A Memorial Service will be at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 27, 2002 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend (1420 W. Paradise Dr., West Bend, WI 53095) with Father Richard J. Stoffel presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Sunday, September 27 from 1:00 pm – 2:45 pm. Interment will be at New St. Peter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to the Arthritis Foundation (10427 W Lincoln Ave, West Allis, WI 53227) and/or Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin (8915 W Connell Ct, Milwaukee, WI 53226) in honor of Marge.
