Kathleen Jean "Kathy" Stewmon

Kathleen J. “Kathy” Stewmon, 72, a longtime resident of the Forest Grove community, died Monday afternoon, September 21, 2020 at Ruby’s Adult Foster Care Home in Beaverton. A Family Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mountainside Cemetery, One Mile South of Scholls on State Highway 219, with Chaplain Bob Little, of Care Partners Hospice, officiating. Concluding Rites and Interment will follow at the cemetery. KATHLEEN JEAN STEWMON was born February 2, 1948 in Fullerton, California, the daughter of the late Lewis Eugene Vance and Margaret Marie (Ganard) Vance. She was raised and received her education in Whittier, California, having been a graduate of the Whittier High School Class of 1966. She was united in marriage to William Howard Stewmon on January 3, 1977 in Reno, Nevada. Following their marriage, they made their home in Grants Pass, Oregon, until they moved to the Gaston community, where they lived for several years. Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, William, on December 13, 2013 in Gaston, Oregon, after celebrating over thirty-six years of marriage together. In 2000, she moved to the Forest Grove community, where she had resided for the past twenty years. She had worked for several years, transporting handicapped children from schools in Gaston to schools In Forest Grove. While raising her daughter, Kathy volunteered for the Gaston School District. Kathy was a member of St. Anthony’s Parish in Forest Grove. Among her special interests, she enjoyed sewing and her family life, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Margaret Vance. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Dean Sahnow, of Forest Grove, Oregon; her sister, Erline Frazier, of Whittier, California; her uncle, Bill Baker, of Forest Grove, Oregon; her sister-in-law, Debbie Stewmon, of Hillsboro, Oregon; her brother-in-law, Alan Stewmon, of Cloverdale, Oregon; her two grandchildren, Garrett and Addison Sahnow and her nieces and nephews, Nicole and Bryan Haraden, of Hillsboro, Oregon and Chase and Bergen “Stewmon, of Forest Grove, Oregon.
