William Glay "Hector" Strickler

William Glay “Hector” Strickler, 64 of Shadyside, OH formerly of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2020 at the Madison Center in Morgantown, WV. He was Born on October 29, 1955 in Wheeling, WV to the late Mary June (Roberts) Strickler. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Wendy A. (Strickler) Koon. Hector graduated from Brooke High School Class of 1974. He worked for the US Postal Service in Wheeling, WV for 30 years. He was a member of The Vineyard Church. Hector was an avid sports fan. He was a member of Cave Club and Snake Club in Wheeling, WV. He is survived by two brothers; Ted and Albert Strickler both of Wellsburg, WV; his fiancé, Kay Zacharias of Shadyside, OH; two nieces, Katrina (William) Smith of Westover, WV, Kristie (Stephen) DeVault of Seven Fields, PA; a nephew, Kevin Koon and his girlfriend Laura Haas of Westover, WV; 6 great nieces and nephews; four great great nephews; and several cousins and his furry companion Sydney. Visitation for Hector will be held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Mullenbach Funeral Home 669 Main St. Follansbee, WV 26037 and again on Friday, September 25th from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Mike Camden and Myron Jelison officiating.
