Theresa Felicity Smith Obituary

Theresa Felicity Smith was born Theresa Damore, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on November 28, 1956. Her parents, the late Joseph Peter Damore and Elizabeth Virginia Damore, were first generation immigrants of Italian, Irish and Hungarian decent. She was one of their six children; Joseph, Robert, Steven, Gary and Kathleen. Theresa graduated from Frankford High School in Philadelphia and had a lifelong love for her hometown and her Italian ancestry. Theresa gave her life to God. She was raised a devout Catholic, however, within the last four years of her life, she converted to being non-denominational. Thankful and blessed to have found God in that way, there wasn’t a person she met that she didn’t share her love of him with. Theresa followed the work of Pastor John Hagee, which brought her much closer to God than ever before. Traditional in her ways, Theresa enjoyed long sits with the family at the dining room table, eating cake and drinking coffee or playing cards. She enjoyed every moment with her large family – laughing her real good laughs. She also enjoyed homemaking, crocheting, reading and nature. She connected with people from all over. She was a beacon of light for many and she truly made them happy. A beautiful wife to her husband, retired CPO Michael Bernard Smith. They together, shared 29 years of marriage. Undoubtedly, the love of his life, she made it worth living. On July 6, 1991, they wed, conjoining families and devoting themselves to their children, Michele R. Damore, Joyce Smith, Leemarie Cullen (Edward I. Cullen), Rebecca Hassinger, Michael B. Smith II (Melissa A. Donaway) and Brian Smith (Brittany E. Smith). Theresa’s grandchildren were her deepest pride. They are the gems she kept closest: Jacinda, Lavaro, Joey, Ryleigh, Lydia, Jaspyr, Michael, Leland, Sophie, Jacob, Felicity and Ryker. On September 19, 2020, Theresa passed away peacefully, at her home, in Seaford, Delaware. There is much to remember her by and to give her thanks for. She is finally at peace and with the Lord. Let’s rejoice and be glad. in lieu of flowers please donate to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at http://www.pancan.org or Hagee Ministries at www.jhm.org/donate
