<p>Bennettsville</p> <p>Mrs. Doris Ann Pruitt Freeman, widow of Henry Thomas Freeman, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at her residence after an illness. She was 86 years old.</p> <p>Mrs. Doris was born in Bennettsville on December 21, 1933 to the late Evans Lee and Ethel Mae Day Pruitt. She was of the Baptist faith. She was retired from Essex Wire, where she was a product inspector. Mrs. Doris enjoyed reading, shopping, collecting porcelain angels, being a caregiver to many, and spending time with her family.</p> <p>She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; son, Tony &ldquo;Luke&rdquo; Pruitt of Bennettsville; daughter, Joy Pruitt of Raleigh, NC; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.</p> <p>She was preceded in death by her parents and husband listed above; children, Reginald Vanhorn, Teresa Lockamy, and Tony Lee Vanhorn; 4 brothers, 2 sisters; a special uncle Howard Day.</p> <p>A memorial service will be held 2pm, Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Burroughs Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2pm just prior to the service.</p> <p>***Due to COVID-19 regulations set forth by the CDC and the local government we ask that all attendees please have proper facial covering, and abide by the social distancing guidelines. Mrs. Doris Ann Pruitt Freeman, widow of Henry Thomas Freeman, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at her residence after an illness. She was 86 years old.

Mrs. Doris was born in Bennettsville on December 21, 1933 to the late Evans Lee and Ethel Mae Day Pruitt. She was of the Baptist faith.
