Lorraine Farmer, age 88, passed at home on Sunday, September 20, 2020. Born November 19, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Verdie and Ethel Ball Tiller of Council, VA. Lorraine graduated from Council High School in 1949 and maintained close relationships with her schoolmates throughout her life. Lorraine attended the Honaker Church of God and loved everyone there. Her enjoyment was spending time with family and friends, working with the Council High School reunion team, going out to eat, and shopping with the girls – many of whom she has now been reunited with. Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, Stan Farmer, and her infant son, Stan, Jr; five brothers, Vernon, Ferrell, Ausroe, Jim, and Loye “Duke” Tiller; and one sister, Jean Compton. Survivors include her daughter, Renee Settle, and husband Steve, of Charlottesville, VA, and several nieces and nephews. Lorraine wanted to extend a special thanks to Scott Yates, a good friend, for all his help and kindness over the years, and to Brenda Tiller and Connie Perkins. Funeral services will be conducted at the Honaker Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 23, at 7:00pm, with Pastor Paul Day and Pastor Larry Brooks officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00pm, one hour prior to the service. Graveside service will take place at the at Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Lebanon, VA at 11:00am, Thursday, September 24. Entombment will follow. Pallbearers will be Scott Yates, Blake Yates, Randall Perkins, Randall Turner, Gary Gregory and Brandon Cassell.
