Eleanor Cecelia Cebuhar, age 92, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at the Hospice House in Ottumwa.

Eleanor was born on March 31, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Matthew and Fannie Klanjac.  She graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1946. 

Eleanor worked at the Centerville Telephone Company for many years.  She was a long-time active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centerville, long-time member of the YMCA, contributing her long life to exercise, and a member of The Friends of the Library.  She enjoyed reading, volunteering at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Hospital Auxiliary and Gift Shop.  Eleanor will be remembered as a kind, positive, and caring person.  The family would like to thank Homestead and Hospice for their loving care of Eleanor.

Those left to cherish Eleanor’s memory are her daughters, Janet Cebuhar of Lansing, Michigan, Susan (Jack) Myer of Bellevue, Washington, and Jill (Mike) Stansbeary of Ottumwa, Iowa; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. 

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Fannie Klanjac; her sister, Beverly Larch and her brother, Ed Klanjac.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM, Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville with Father Timothy Armbruster officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Oakland Cemetery in Centerville.  Visitation will take place Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 5-7PM.  A rosary service will be held at 5:30PM, Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at Lange Funeral Home. Memorials have been established to either the Ladies of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Drake Public Library or to the Hospice House of Ottumwa, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory C/O Cebuhar family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544. Per the family’s wishes, Masks are required while attending the services, and will be available at the door.
