<p style="text-align: justify;">Dorene Marie Scown (Running Rabbit) &ndash; Makiinimaki, November 17, 1932, Siksika, Alberta, September 15, 2020, Siksika, Alberta. Dorene passed away peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by family. Grandma Dorene will be remembered for her dedication, generosity, kindness and love for her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and all her extended family. She will be greatly missed and forever loved. Dorene was a private, quiet humble person and an avid reader who enjoyed her grandchildren and cooking shows. Dorene will be lovingly remembered by her brother Floyd Running Rabbit, sisters, Beverly Runner, Flora Whitney (Larry),&nbsp; June Duck Chief, Geraldine Red Gun, Delphine Doore. Her children, (Daughter In-law) Eulalia Running Rabbit, Donna Panther Bone (Elroy), Darrel Running Rabbit (Alvine) Bob Scown, Shawn (Kerri) Rosselle, Ellie Ginger) Rosselle, (Adopted Daughter) Laura Sitting Eagle, Lavina and Jeanette Many Guns, (Adopted Son) Father Gary Labucane, She will also be remembered by her grandchildren Richard (September), Jason (Dawn), Kyle (Dee), David (Ashley), Rikkelle (Desmond), Dolly (David), Taylor (Tye), Xander, Fallon, Rayel, Chelsea, Sophie and all her great grandchildren, Brandon, Brayson, Emma, Seneca, Ninahkii, Laila, Torrance, Talon, Lyman, James, Koda, Tori-Lynn, Armelle, Jody, Celeste Mikki, Hayden, Tia, Osirus and Kylia, Mckinnon and Great Great grandchildren Elayna and Jayce. Dorene was a descendant of the great Blackfoot Chief Old Sun. Dorene was predeceased by her children Rick Running Rabbit and Rhonda Scown, grandparents, Heavy Shield and Antoinette Black Kettle, and Ada Frances Wolf Shoe, her parents, Phil and Emma Running Rabbit, her brothers, Phil Running Rabbit Jr and Walter Poor Eagle. Her uncles and aunts Mark and Louise Spring Chief, Rosario and Emily Duck Chief, Louis and Alice Running Rabbit, Mike and Frances Running Rabbit, Jack and Mary Running Rabbit, Faith Running Rabbit, Leslie and Rosa Doore, Wilton and Rita Frank, and Joe and Annie Running Rabbit. Dorene will also be remembered by her relatives from the Duck Chief, Stimson, Spring Chief, McMaster, Doore, Frank, Runner, Whitney, Starlight, Bear Chief, Three Suns, Black Kettle, Medicine Traveller, Wolf Ear, Pretty Youngman, Sleigh, Medicine Shield, Young Pine and Bull Bear families. We apologize for anyone we may have missed. At Dorene&rsquo;s request, there will not be a wake service. Friends and relatives are invited for prayers and tributes at the Holy Trinity Church, Siksika on Monday. September 21, 2020 at 8:00 am. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11.00 am. Graveside service to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery (Siksika). The family would like to thank Doctor McNeely and Doctor Backfat, the Palliative Team and special thanks to nurse Tessa Jones for all the care that they provided for Dorene.</p>
