Graveside services for Monta Jane Woodard, age 66, will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tim Lumley will officiate. Mrs. Woodard was born October 23, 1953 in Johnsonville, South Carolina. She lived in Laurens County for 35 years and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. Monta was preceded in death by her parents Limpy and Lucille Creel, sisters Pansy Nelson and Estelle Bouchette, her grandchild baby Brooks, and her husband John Woodard. Mrs. Woodard passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Fairview Park Hospital. Mrs. Woodard is survived by her daughter Stacey Brooks (Michael) of Dublin, sisters Sarah Ray of Johnsonville, SC and Debbie Walden (Bobo) of Pensacola, FL, and brother Russell Creel (Lisa) of North Carolina. She was the beloved Nana to her 7 grandchildren Monica, Michaela, Jacob, Elisabeth, Chase, Addison and Karson Brooks, her godson Howard Self. Also by nieces and nephews Amy Ray, Amanda Strickland (Jeff), Lisa Riner (Chad), Paula Knowles (Ryan), Charlotte Grier, Tonya Harris (Justin), and Tresha Northcutt (Dane). The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the funeral home. Social Distancing guidelines will be in effect and mask will be required by those attending as we are following the guidelines of the local health district and the CDC. Pallbearers will be Jacob Brooks, Ricky Self, Howard Self, Jackie Johnson, Chad Riner and Kevin Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be Chase Brooks and Karson Brooks. Stanley Funeral Home and Crematory/Dublin Chapel has charge of funeral arrangements.
