Gaye Simmons Cushing, 65, of 306 West 33rd St., passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at Southeastern Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 4 PM, Saturday, September 26th at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Webb officiating.  A walk-through visitation will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM, Friday, September 25th at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home.

Gaye, born December 19, 1954 in Sampson County, was the daughter of the late Clifton Simmons and Martha Cato (Cattie) Jones.  She was a school teacher and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents she was preceded by her sisters, Wanda Bandy and Mavis Carter.

Survivors include: son, David Cushing of Wilmington, NC; daughter, Amanda Leigh Cushing; and brother, Marty Simmons.
