Joanne (Joni) Kathryn Cartwright lived in Champions Gate, Florida. She was from Minneapolis, Minnesota, and passed away at the age of 77 on Sept 20, 2020. Born December 21, 1942 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Anna Maria Wilhelmenia Winterfeldt and Theodore Julius Lieske. She married David Warren Cartwright on September 4, 1964. She is survived by Marlys Bielunski (sister) & Wayne Bielunski (brother in law), Stephen Lieske (brother) & Barbara Lieske (sister in law), Kimberly Lassiter (daughter) & David Lassiter (son in law), Pamela Cartwright (daughter), Dianna Burke (daughter), her grandchildren, Sean Lassiter, Mitchell Lassiter, Adam Lassiter, Robbie Lassiter, Bradley Burke, Sara Burke, Nolan Buck, and great grandchildren India, Robin, & Max Lassiter, and Nolan & Scarlett Civiello. Joni attended the University of Minnesota and is a graduate from the University of Maryland. She retired from Computer Sciences Corporation and East Carolina University. She cherished her 56 years of marriage to her husband Dave and the family they built together. Health and nutrition were guiding principles in her life and anyone that knew Mom can attest to her passion for it. She was very outgoing and always searching for special connections, made people feel comfortable, wore her heart on her sleeve and always made time to listen. As a result she fostered and cultivated life long friendships. Her friends said she gave the best advice. She cherished her time with her grandchildren and never hesitated to play barbies, tonka trucks, read bedtime stories, or share her spot to play puzzles on her ipad. She was the perfect role model to us girls as she was strong, independent, and determined, yet soft, patient, and incredibly loving. Anyone who met her could feel the warmth of her smile and soul. We will forever miss you and always hold you close to our hearts. We love you Mom!
