Jane Frances Cennamo San Antonio, Texas Obituary

Jane Frances Cennamo

Our dearly, beloved mother, Jane Frances Cennamo went to be with our Lord on September 16, 2020 at the age of 92. Jane was born on June 19, 1928 in Springfield, Massachusetts to John and Anne (McTiernan) Hyde. She received her degree from the State Teachers College at Jersey City in 1949. She went on to teach at the Orleans American School in Orleans, France. There she met Sebastian Cennamo, the man who would be her husband for 31 years. Jane had a love for children and a passion for teaching. After marriage, she became an Army officer’s wife and traveled throughout the world with her husband and eventually six children. In later years, she settled in San Antonio. She was a devout Catholic and active parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Selma. Family was everything to her! She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and always looked forward to family dinners and celebrations. She was always on the move and loved to read, quilt, sew, garden and travel. She was a strong, Irish woman who will be remembered for her willingness to help others, loyalty, and feisty and independent spirit. She is survived by her children, Ralph Cennamo and wife Sherry, Steven Cennamo and wife Mary, Jim Cennamo and wife Kristin, Mary Williams and husband Mike, Elizabeth Bloom and husband Billy, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Sebastian Cennamo, and son, Sebastian J. Cennamo. The family extends their sincere thank you for the compassionate care given to their mother by Nicole Care Home and Hope Hospice.
