Obituary – Alta Pearl Graham Alta Pearl Graham, age 92, of Davis City, Iowa, was born August 25, 1928, to Lindsey Willis and Rosa May (Reed) Roush in Decatur County, Iowa. She died at the Decatur County Hospital in Leon, Iowa on Friday, September 18, 2020. Alta grew up on a farm south of Decatur, Iowa. She attended school in Leon and graduated from Leon High School in 1946. She then attended cosmetology school in Des Moines, Iowa. She and Myron Richard “Dick” Graham were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They made their home at Davis City and were blessed with two sons, Daniel and Michael. Alta was a stay at home wife and mother while they were growing up. In the early 1970’s, she worked at Pyfer’s Grocery Store in Leon. In the mid 1980’s Alta started working at the Decatur County Hospital as a receptionist, a job she retired from 20 years later. Alta’s favorite thing to do was shop. She loved going with her sisters and friends to Younkers in Des Moines, Iowa. She also enjoyed time with her family and taking care of her home. She volunteered her time freely for Davis City community activities. Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Mike Graham in 1979; and sisters, Bernice Porter and Luella Roush. Survivors include her son, Danny Graham and wife, Vicki, of Davis City; grandchildren, Jenny and Troy Henry, Mike and Arianna Graham, and Joel Frank, all of Davis City; five great grandchildren, Addy, Maggie, Jessalyn, Myrie, and Kathan; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2020, with Pastor Neil Montz officiating. Burial will be in the Davis City Cemetery, Davis City, Iowa. Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Alta’s memory.
