Mary Ann Tiger Burgess left this earthly walk on September 18th, 2020 at South Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 83.<br /><br />Mary Ann was born May 31, 1937 to Joe and Annie Tiger of Wewoka, OK. Later in life she married friend and companion Frankie Burgess in Wewoka, OK. <br /><br />Mary Ann was a proud member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma., belonging to the Ocese Band and Beaver Clan. She is a member of Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka. <br /><br />She worked for C-Incorporated in Wewoka for several years until its closing, afterwards she took up nursing and worked for several nursing homes until her retirement after more than 25 years of service. Her favorite football team was the Oklahoma Sooners. She remained loyal through thick and thin seasons. Her basketball team was the Los Angles Lakers until the Oklahoma City Thunder came to town. She was a loyal fan to both teams. Her favorite TV shows were Gunsmoke and Bonanza, any old western movie would keep her eyes glued to the TV, especially if Audie Murphy or John Wayne were showing. Elvis Presley movies were another favorite of hers. Her favorite Stv-cate was Geronimo. If she saw a t-shirt with him on it, she wanted it.<br /><br />She enjoyed going to the casino, chewing tobacco, family gatherings when she could spend time with her children, grandchildren and friends and relatives, she always went home with a smile!<br /><br />Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Joe and Annie Tiger, Husband, Frank Burgess, sisters Elizabeth Buckner, Judy Cloud, Martha Bowlegs, one infant sister and two infant brothers, Daughter Jewel Kay Tiger, grandson, Joseph Tiger and granddaughter Melinda McGirt Tiger.<br /><br />She is survived by her children, Alexander Billy Tiger of Stringtown, Gary Lena of Earlsboro, Henson and wife Elizabeth Lena of Econtuchka community, Ivora Lena of Shawnee, Kenneth Lena of Earlsboro and James Lena of McAlester, Brother Rev. Houston Tiger, sisters, Nellie Tiger and Nora Jacobs all of Wewoka, Myrna Merritt of Seminole, 30 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and a host of other friends and relatives.<br /><br />Wake Service will be 7PM Tuesday September 22, 2020 at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka. <br /><br />Funeral Service will be 2 PM Wednesday September 23, 2020 at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka.<br /><br />Pallbearers are Kevin Tiger, Travis Hunter, Justin Lena, Malachi Lena, Elizah Lena and Chase Lena.<br /><br />Honorary Pallbearers are Brandon Hunter, Cleo Cloud, Micheal Merritt, Kenneth Wright, Benny Tiger and Joe Bowlegs.<br /><br />Services are under the direction of Stout Phillips Funeral Home.<br />

Funeral Service will be 2 PM Wednesday September 23, 2020 at Sand Creek Eufaula Baptist Church in Wewoka.

Pallbearers are Kevin Tiger, Travis Hunter, Justin Lena, Malachi Lena, Elizah Lena and Chase Lena.
