Lyle Arthur Rawlinson, otherwise known to his grandchildren as "Poppy," passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2020, at the VA Medical Center in Providence. He is the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Coelho) Rawlinson, to whom he was married for 52 years. Lyle previously lived in Cumberland but resided in Johnston for the last 47 years. He was born in Pawtucket on October 6, 1940, a son of the late John A. and Flora (Rock) Rawlinson. Lyle was a Certified Public Accountant for 39 years at the Lyle A. Rawlinson, CPA Inc. with his brother and son. Arthur also served in the U.S. Navy. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons; David Rawlinson and his wife Ann of Greenville; Brian Rawlinson and his wife, Ioanna of Johnston and Michael Rawlinson and his wife Sarah of Colorado; a brother Kenneth Rawlinson and his wife Elaine of Johnston. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Lindsey, Emily, Arwen, Miller, James, John, Summer, and niece Dr. Robin Rawlinson and nephew Dr. Kenneth Rawlinson. Lyle was known for his robust sense of humor and enjoyed the beach, nature, and sharing pistachios with his grandchildren. Due to COVID restrictions, funerals and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38105, will be appreciated.
