Brewer-- Carolyn Sandra Blake, 61, passed away September 12, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 27, 1959, in Philadelphia PA, the daughter of Bruce and Margaret (Stebbins) Blake. Carolyn grew up in Media, PA, graduated from Penncrest High School and received a BS degree in Zoology from the University of Vermont. Carolyn worked at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor for 38 years. In 2013, she moved into the role of Programmer Analyst III. During her tenure at Jackson Lab, Carolyn built many of the foundational JAX applications, including some legacy systems that are still in use today. Carolyn loved a large variety of outdoor activities including many years camping on her island at Green Lake, hiking, boating of all kinds, fishing and ice fishing. As a music lover, she played trombone in high school, college and for over three decades in the Bar Harbor Town Band. From the time she was little she always dreamed of building and living in a log cabin. She made this dream come true by building a beautiful log home in Trenton where she lived for many years. She is survived by her loving partner and spouse of 33 years Carolyn Campbell; brother William Blake and wife, Valerie of Xenia, OH; sisters Nancy Blake of Windham, Jennifer Lafleur and husband, Norm of Stratham, NH; stepson Lee Kitchen of Boynton Beach, FL; stepdaughters Kerry Davis of Verona and Ann Harmon of Wiscasset; grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Carolyn is especially missed by her faithful buddy, Abby. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carolyn's memory may be made to American Cancer Society or Northern Light Home Care & Hospice. A memorial service will be held in early October for family members and video streaming will be available also. Time and date will be announced.
