<p><br></p><div style=""><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue"><br></font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">Allen (Al) Joseph Allie, M.D., of Filer, ID, passed away on September 15th, 2020.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">Dr. Allie was born on April 7th, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">Shortly after graduating high school, he joined the US Army. During this time he discovered a passion for medicine and enrolled in Wayne State University, graduating in 1961 with a medical degree.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">He moved to California in 1962 working for various hospitals before finally settling into a career in Ophthalmology.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">Al married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) in 1977. He and Betty shared a love of German Shepard’s and Appaloosa Horses.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">This union brought together his two girls, Karen and Brenda along with Betty’s daughter, Robin.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">In 1989, Al and Betty moved to Gardnerville, NV, in the neighborhood of Fish Springs naming their property Carousel Acres.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">Al opened up his Ophthalmology practice, and being the only one in town, became a household name for the Carson Valley. Whether in the office, in surgery, teaching students as a professor at UNR, or at home in the barn, he was always staying busy.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">In 1999, the couple relocated to Filer, ID, and Al eventually retired from his practice and took on a job as a customer specialist at Best Buy for two years and then became an instructor in the Biology department at the College of Southern Idaho. Al thrived in this environment as he was able to connect with so many students. He had a passion for teaching and loved to see his students excel and succeed.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">Al was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty, his oldest daughter Karen, and his parents. He is survived by his daughter Brenda Flom, son in law Bruce Flom, step daughter Robin Burchette, son in law Terry Burchette, son in law David MacIntyre, sister Lynn Leedy, grandchildren Ashley and Allen Flom, Haley Flom (Allen’s wife), great grandchild Maverick, numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">He will be so incredibly missed by all those who were blessed enough to have him in their lives.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue">At Al’s request no services will be held.</font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style=""><font face="-apple-system, HelveticaNeue"><br></font></div><div class="BodyFragment" style="">Arrangements are under the care of Serenity Funeral Chapel Life Celebration Center &amp; Cremation Services of Idaho, Twin Falls. Allen (Al) Joseph Allie, M.D., of Filer, ID, passed away on September 15th, 2020.
Dr. Allie was born on April 7th, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan.
Shortly after graduating high school, he joined the US Army. During this time he discovered a passion for medicine and enrolled in Wayne State University, graduating in 1961 with a medical degree.
He moved to California in 1962 working for various hospitals before finally settling into a career in Ophthalmology.
Al married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) in 1977. He and Betty shared a love of German Shepard’s and Appaloosa Horses.
This union brought together his two girls, Karen and Brenda along with Betty’s daughter, Robin.
