<p>Cora Goodwin</p> <p>Funeral services for Cora Goodwin, 86, of Brazoria will be Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Church with Bishop Timothy Higgins III eulogizing and Elder Roland K. Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow at Mims Community Cemetery.</p> <p>She passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at St. Luke Baylor Medical Center in Houston, TX.</p> <p>She was a member of Magnolia Bible Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking.</p> <p>She leaves precious memories with her daughter, Grenda Monroe of Houston, TX; brother in laws, John Goodwin (Bessie) of Brazoria, Ralph Jackson of San Francisco, CA; special extended family, Jesse Mack, Clara Johnson, Rita George, Shirley Saleem, Loretta Layman, Napoleon Johnson, John and Becky Simmons; two grandchildren, Markus Averhart (Michelle) of Brazoria, Janay Monroe of Houston; three great-grandchildren, Jamarkus Averhart, Jamorrious Jenkins, Torri Averhart; one great great-grandchild, Carter Jenkins; Godchildren, Melinda Bonner and Tommy Bell; best friends, Alice Moore, Ernestine Randon, Elizabeth Hall; and a host of other family and friends.</p> <p>Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Alexander, Samuel Goodwin, Robert George, Ronnie LaPaul, Jamarkus Averhart and Pendleton Johnson.</p> <p>Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2020 from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria. </p> <p> "Due to the COVID-19 Virus, everyone must wear a mask and practice social distancing."</p> <p>Final arrangements entrusted to Dixon Funeral Home of Brazoria at (979) 798-9113. </p> <p> </p> <p> </p>Obituary
