George William Hallcock Obituary

George William Hallcock was born on February 19, 1938, in Northfield, MN to William and Evelyn (Kleeberger) Hallcock. He attended Randolph Public Schools, graduating in 1956. He joined the United States Army Reserves on December 15, 1960 and received his honorable discharge on December 15, 1966. During that period, he served six months active duty from January until May 1961. George was a lifelong farmer, primarily with beef cattle and a variety of crops. He was known as a cattle raiser taking baby Holstein bull calves to finished weight in 13 months on a no roughage feeding program. George was united in marriage to Rozetta Rae Hallcock on July 22, 1978 in Griswold, IA, and made their home on the family farm in Randolph. George lived nearly his entire life on the farm and after 79 ½ years at the same address, George and Rozetta moved to Northfield as George’s health declined. George loved to go to farm shows to view new equipment and always kept a “dream” drawer on equipment he hoped to purchase at a future date. He also enjoyed antique farm equipment and shows. George was active in the Randolph Baptist Church as building chairman, usher, and trustee. He was also active at Cornerstone Community Church in Northfield, and the Dakota County Farm Bureau, honorary member of the Minnesota Farm Bureau and other agricultural organizations. George passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rozetta of Northfield; their three children Roxann Armstrong of Godley, TX, Karla (Dan Lien) Randolph of Randolph, Dale (Casey) Hallcock of Randolph; and four grandchildren Jadelee, Carly, Allen and Layda. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law Brian Randolph (2019.) Services will be held at Cornerstone Community Church in Northfield on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 beginning at 2:00 PM with Reverend Tony Mustazza officiating. Visitation will be held at Cornerstone Community Church on Monday, September 21, 2020, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will take place in Hillcrest Cemetery near Hampton. Memorials are preferred to Cornerstone Community Church or donor’s choice. Arrangements are with Bierman Funeral Home and Crematory. biermanfuneralhome.com
