Obituary

Deacon Lanwourd Williams was born on August 30, 1954, in Allendale County, South Carolina, to the late Mr. Ernest Williams, Sr., and Mrs. Sarah Emma Harvey Williams. He received his education in the public schools of Allendale County and was a graduate of Allendale Fairfax High School. At an early age, Lanwourd joined the Long Branch Missionary Baptist Church, where he served in various capacities including as Deacon, Chairman of Deacon Board, past President of Senior Choir, and member of the Male Chorus. He was gainfully employed as a maintenance tech for Boyd Management Agency. He was formerly employed with Mohawk, Queen Carpet, the Denmark school system, and SC Regional Housing Authority as Maintenance Supervisor, Barnwell, SC.

He was united in holy matrimony to the former Patricia Eady; two sons, Anthony and Devinci, were born to this union. Lanwourd later married Ms. Janet Williams.He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ernest Williams, Jr.Our Heavenly Father called him home to rest on September 16, 2020, at the Summerville Community Hospice House, Summerville, South Carolina.

He is survived by his three sons, Anthony Williams of Norfolk, VA, Devinci Williams of Newark, NJ, and Stephen Travis Milledge of Fairfax, SC; two daughters, NaVonne “Trece” Sutton of Rincon, GA and Tamika Gregory of Fort Lauderdale, FL; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Harry “Tap” Williams of Fairfax, SC, John (Henrietta) Williams, Malcolm “Mike” Williams of Allendale, SC, and Terry “PeeWee” Williams of Beaufort, SC; three sisters, Gladys (Alfred) Williams of Fairfax, SC, Shirley (Deacon Marion) Roberts of Brunson, SC, and Lena (Anthony) Eady of Fairfax, SC; aunt, Ivy Johnson of CT; a host of nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews, and friends; and special friends, Deacon Roosevelt Manuel and Gloria Brown.
