Elaine Gail Helsley Obituary

Elaine Gail Helsley left this earthly realm at 2:57pm on September 15, 2020 after a long illness. She was 78 years old. Elaine was born in Flint, Michigan on July 17, 1942 to William James Bellinger and Thelma Roxie Durkee. She married Allan Dale Helsley on August 31, 1963. They settled in Clio, Michigan where they had three children, Lester Alan, William James and DeLynne Marie. They relocated to Harrah in 1981 for Dale’s job at GMC. In March of 1986, they moved to England and lived there until December 1988. Elaine had a cleaning service and eventually went to work at Tinker AFB. She started in the commissary and then a metalizing equipment operator until she retired in 2007. Elaine loved horses, she loved riding her horse Shaza. They owned several horses over the years and she loved them all. She enjoyed gardening and had beautiful flower beds for many years. She loved watching the birds at the feeders and always kept several out each year. And in recent years had a deer feeder so she could watch the deer that come to the backyard. Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, her sister and one brother. Her husband Dale passed in April 2017 and son Lester passed in September 2019. She is survived by son William Helsley and his wife Kim of Oklahoma City, daughter DeLynne Teoli of Harrah and daughter-in-law Alicia Helsley of Edmond. Grandchildren, Ciara Wolff, Morgan Keech, Cheyanne Helsley, Harleigh Teoli, Aidan Helsley and Rori Helsley. Great-grandchildren, Landyn Caudle, McKenzie Eskue, Kylee Keech and Callahan Roberts. Her brother Richard and his wife Shirley of Brookneal, Virginia. And numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine’s greatest love was her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her dearest treasures on earth. She will be sorely missed by each and every one. The family would like to recognize Angelic Hospice of Shawnee for the wonderful care they took of Elaine during her illness, most importantly, her nurse, Carol Tanner.
