Sharron McCann Northfield, Minnesota Obituary

Sharron McCann

Sharron McCann, 83, of Northfield died Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the Methodist Campus of Mayo Clinic Hospital, Rochester. Sharron Dawn Dean was born in Girard, MI on August 25, 1937 to Ezra and Marguerite (Ambrose) Dean. She was raised in Coldwater, MI and graduated from Coldwater High School in 1955. She married Donald McCann in 1957 and they moved to Long Beach, CA, where their first son, Michael, was born. They moved to Wheaton, IL, where their daughter, Lorilyn, was born. They then moved to New Brighton, MN where Don finished Seminary and Sharron became a pastor’s wife, which she enjoyed and considered a calling. They moved to Hutchinson, back to New Brighton and to Kensington, CT. They divorced in 1978, after which Sharron moved to Shoreview, MN, to Grand Marais and eventually Northfield due to needing dialysis each week. Sharron had many interests but loved being a Pastor’s wife and anything that involved helping people. She was adventurous and lovingly devoted to her church, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her faith and prayers were essential aspects of her life and the lives of her children. She is rejoicing in heaven now and forever thankful that she does not need dialysis there. Sharron is survived by her children, Michael (Christine) McCann of Eitzen and Lorilyn (Mark) Hoglund of Eagan; grandchildren Larissa (Josh) Erickson, Colinne (Torrey Willlie) McCann, Maddison (Ryan) Deemer, Cachel (Edward) Newbauer, Sean Russell, Scott (Bee) Russell, Theodore (Elaine) Hoglund, Tait (Kayla) Hoglund, Mary (Aaron) Ehlars, Kate (Brian) Klug, and Melanie Hoglund; 18 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; sister, Phyllis Snider of Elkton, MI and sister-in-law Joann Dean. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Ralph Collins; brothers, Garnett, Dale, and John; and other brothers and sisters-in-law. A visitation will be held for the public from 4 to 7 PM on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Bierman Funeral Home, 1316 Division Street South, Northfield.
