Donald Ray "Donnie" Stone

<p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">Donald &ldquo;Donnie&rdquo; R. Stone, 83, of Friedheim passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">He was born June 13, 1937, in Chaffee, son of Heissie Edward and Blanche Edith Conrad Stone.&nbsp;He and Wanda Lee Slinkard were married November 9, 1964 in Chaffee.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">Donnie enlisted in the United States Army on October 3, 1962. After being honorably discharged September of 1966 he went to work for Lemming Timber Company in Cape Girardeau. He was an active farmer along with owning and operating Stone Garage in Daisy for 20 yrs.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">Loving survivors include his wife Wanda of nearly 56 years of marriage, one daughter Pam (Greg) Collins of Jackson; two grandsons Tyler (Lauryn) Collins and Taylor (Shay) Collins both of Daisy; two great grandchildren Lily and Lincoln Collins.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">Also surviving are two siblings, Jack (Carol) Stone of Oak Ridge and Wanda Lee Sparks; three sisters &ndash; in &ndash; law Mary Hanners, Ruth Hobeck and Barb Slinkard all of Jackson and several nieces and nephews.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">He was preceded in death by five brothers Bill, Loy, Leon, J.C. and Roy Lee Stone; and one sister Velma Dobbs</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">Visitation will be from 3 - 7 PM Friday, September 18, 2020 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson&nbsp;The funeral service will be at 10 AM Saturday at the funeral Home with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">The family suggests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children&rsquo;s Hospital 501&nbsp;St. Jude&nbsp;Place Memphis, TN 38105</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:16px;">Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting;.</span></strong></p>
