<p>Mr. Donavon R. Barnes, age 71, of Mt. Vernon, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital. </p> <p>Donavon was born September 2, 1949 in Pinehill, KY, to the late Richard and Dorothy (Overbay) Barnes. He married Patsy Mink on August 30, 1975, was a heavy equipment mechanic, a member of Sandhill Baptist Church, and a trader of guns, knives, cars, and trucks.</p> <p>Those left to celebrate his life are his wife of 45 years: Patsy Barnes; son: Mickey Donavon (Stephaine) Barnes of Mt. Vernon, KY; five grandchildren: Jaiden, Hailee, Chelsea, Abel, and Harlow Barnes; one brother: James Keith (Barbara) Barnes of Chicago, IL; and four sisters: Donna (John) Marsh of Georgia, Deborah (Jerry) Laughing of Glascow, KY, Pat (Harold) Robinson of Glascow, KY, Paula Brown of Florence, KY.</p> <p>Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter: Denise Barnes, one brother: Richard Barnes, Sr.; and two sisters: Sharron Mink, and Charlotte Howard.</p> <p>Visitation for Donavon will be Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 6-9pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral services will be Friday, September 18, 2020 at 2pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Tommy Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Teddy Mink Cemetery.</p>Obituary
